WISMA PUTRA INTERNATIONAL CHARITY BAZAAR 2011
INSTITUTE OF DIPLOMACY AND FOREIGN RELATIONS (IDFR)
16-17 APRIL 2011
The Ladies Association of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, also known as PERWAKILAN (Persatuan Wanita Kementerian Luar Negeri Malaysia) will be organising the Wisma Putra International Charity Bazaar 2011 at the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) in Kuala Lumpur on 16-17 April 2011.
The main purpose of the Charity Bazaar is to raise funds which will be channelled to few paediatric wards and deserving organisations in Kuala Lumpur. Through public diplomacy, the Bazaar provides a platform and opportunity for the various foreign Embassies and High Commissions in Kuala Lumpur to promote culture, tourism and cuisine of their respective countries and subsequently meet members of the public. The Bazaar also aims to promote the role and functions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia and its training institute, IDFR.
The two-day event will be launched by Y.Bhg. Datin Sri Siti Rubiah binti Datuk Abdul Samad, wife of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Patron of PERWAKILAN on 16 April 2011. The Charity Bazaar among others will be divided into five (5) themed areas as follows:
Ø Global Village – participation by various embassies and high commissions;
Ø World Cuisine – a taste of food from various countries around the world;
Ø It’s a Small World – cultural performances from different participating embassies/high commissions, universities and schools;
Ø Aim High – Education Fair where exhibitors will promote their universities, colleges and institutes of higher learning; and
Ø Bazaar Malaysia – a typical street market selling a variety of gifts and goods.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to invite all members of the public to attend and participate in the International Charity Bazaar 2011 to be held at IDFR, Kuala Lumpur, on 16-17 April 2011. Admission is free.
