TRAVELLING SIAM REAP

4:10 PM

Salam Sejahtera

USD45 untuk satu tuktuk selama 4 hari. bukan tanak naik public, tapi abam malas nk fikir. and kali ni pergi berdua, so harga tuktuk dah boleh kongsi dua orang.

hari pertama kat sana, nothing much, just suruh nasri bawak kitorang jalan jalan sekitar bandar siam reap, melawat sikit temple yang berdekatan dan jugak independent square. malam? tido awal. sebab esoknya nak bangun awal masuk ke angkor wat nak tengok sunrise.

esoknya seawal 4 pagi dah bangun. nak tengok sunrise, dalam 5.00 pagi dah kena gerak. dari tempat kitorang stay tu, nak ke angkor wat dalam 30 minit. fee untuk masuk angkor tak mahal, USD20 je untuk satu hari. nanti kat ticketing booth korang kena amek gambar sebab dekat tiket tu akan print sekali gambar kita. cool eh? hahaha

tiket masuk ke angkor.

sedikit tips: pada yang gigih konon nak tengok sunrise kat angkor wat tu, abang cadangkan tak payah eksaited sangat. takde la lawa mana pon sunrise kat situ. sunrise dari balkoni rumah abam lagi cantik. ekceli angkor wat tu adalah. salah satu dari berpuluh2 temple ynag ada dalam sana. angkor sendiri adalah semuah kota lama. penuh dengan bangunan yang binaan dia pada abam cukup lawa. tapi, kalau korang pegi awal, dapat la naik puncak angkor wat tu. nak naik tu kena mendaki macam batu caves just lagi curam. and atas sana pon macam lawa jugak la. and tangga naik dibuka dari 7.45 pagi sampai 5.15 petang je.

curam kan?

ok habis angkor wat, kitorang gerak lagi masuk dalam. ke angkor tom city. ni lah baru banyak tample kat dalam tu. ada Bayon, Elephant Tarrace, Ta Promh dan segala jenis old monument lagi lah.

the bayon.

terrace of the elephant

kalau korang nak taw, the bayon tu tempat dia takde la besar mana, sempit sikit kalau nk dibandingkan dengan angkor wat and terrace of the elephant tu saaaaangat besar. kalau ikot pembacaan abam dan jugak dari yang diceritakan oleh driver, terrace of elephant ni dinamakan macam tu sebab dari sini lah raja diorang lepak lepak main laga gajah. hebat orang dulu. ape barang laga ayam. laga gajah terus. haha!

IMG_1612

ape tah nama tempat ni. berhenti amek gambar je. hahahah

siap explore terrace of elephant yang besar tu, abam pegi pulak melawat ta promh. sinilah kuil paling feymes kalau dalam angkor ni. sebab diorang penah datang shooting movie tomb raider kat sini. tapi kondisi kebanyakan bagunan dalam angkor dah banyak tak elok. dan projek pemulihan giat dijalankan.

IMG_1619

inside ta promh

habis melawat ta promh tu, kiotrang gagahkan diri melawat satu lagi temple (lupa nama) and lepas tu dah tak larat. baru 6 temple dah sekerat hari and dah flat. dengan panas dia. lepas tu dah lapa terus ajak nasri bawak kitrang balik and pegi makan.

sepanjang di siem reap, kiotrang stay di hak’s house. murah dan bersih. lagipon dekat dengan perkampungan muslim. senang sikit nak dapat makanan halal. kalau korang pegi siem reap, make sure korang try makanan yang bertajuk “fish in pond” , “lembu naik bukit” and “fish a mok” . makanan autentik kemboja. sedap pon sedap.

next day, kiotorang melawat ke war museum dan jugak killing field. paling best bila melawat ke war museum is, ada sorang uncle bekas askar kat situ, dia bercerita pengalaman masa dia berperang. habis ditunjuk kesan dia kena tembak, kaki dia kudung terkena periuk api and semua pengalaman kesusahan waktu perang dulu. best kot dengar bebenda macam tu. fee nak masuk war museum tu just USD5 je. berbaloi lah. siap korang boleh main bazooka lagi.

oh! selain dari tempat2 yang abam cerita kat atas tu, abam ada jugak pegi artisan centre. tempat diorang buat kraft. menarik tengok. pegi try coffee diorang. lilin wangi dan jugak pegi ke pusat pemprosesan sutera. boleh main dengan ulat sutera. yang ni semua free of charge entry dia. rasanya tu je kot yang abam nak cerita. nak taw lanjut leh la PM abam kat twitter : @taufiqhelios and ouh! tak lupa, meh la tengok travel video yang abam buat sepanjang kat sana. kat bawah ni ye.

TRAVELLING HYDERABAD ; CHAPTER TWO

5:27 PM

in this chapter, i will talk about places in Hyderabad.

PLACE OF INTEREST

Here’s a few places that we've visited while in Hyderabad :

CHARMINAR

20 minutes from our hotel. from Abids, you just have to take bus number 8A and tell the conductor that you want to go to Charminar. Charminar itself is Hyderabad most important landmark. Entry fee for Charminar is Rs100.

inside the bus with locals

The Charminar was built in 1591 CE, is a monument and mosque located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The landmark has become a global icon of Hyderabad, listed among the most recognized structures of India. The Charminar is situated on the east bank of Musi river. To the west lies the Laad Bazaar, and to the southwest lies the richly ornamented granite Makkah Masjid. It is listed as an archaeological and architectural treasure on the official "List of Monuments" prepared by the Archaeological Survey of India under the The Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act .

Charminar

The English name is a translation and combination of the Urdu words Chār and Minar',translating to "Four Towers"; the eponymous towers are ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches.

Laad Bazaar

It is surrounded by market (Laad Bazaar) that sells various products and you can find almost everything from mehndi (henna) to bangles and all kind of spices and also saree though I do not recommend you to buy saree here. The price for me is a tad pricey but still super cheap compared to Malaysia.

MAKKAH MASJID / MECCA MOSQUE

nearby cahrminar, there is Mecca mosque. It is one of the oldest mosques in Hyderabad, Telangana in India, And it is one of the largest masjids in India. Makkah Masjid is a listed heritage building in the old city of Hyderabad, close to the historic landmarks of Chowmahalla Palace, Laad Bazaar, and Charminar.

Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, commissioned bricks to be made from the soil brought from Mecca, the holiest site of Islam, and used them in the construction of the central arch of the mosque, thus giving the mosque its name. It formed the centerpiece around which the city was planned by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah .

Facts for women, you will be denied from entering if you’re not wearing hijab or are wearing inappropriate cloth (Hot and Sexy!). Entry is FREE.

CHOWMAHALLA PALACE

Chowmahalla Palace or Chowmahallatuu, is a palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad state. It was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty and was the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad while they ruled their state.

The palace remains the property of Barkat Ali Khan Mukarram Jah, heir of the Nizams. In Persian, Chahar means four and in Arabic Mahalat (plural of Mahal) means palaces, hence the name Chowmahallat/four palaces, or fourAll ceremonial functions including the accession of the Nizams and receptions for the Governor-General were held at this palace.

Khilwat Mubarak

This is heart of Chowmahalla Palace. It is held in high esteem by the people of Hyderabad, as it was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. The grand pillared Durbar Hall has a pure marble platform on which the Takht-e-Nishan or the royal seat was laid. Here the Nizams held their durbar and other religious and symbolic ceremonies. The 19 spectacular Chandeliers of Belgian crystal recently reinstalled to recreate the lost splendor of this regal hall .

Entrance fee is Rs150 and if you wanna bring camera inside, you will be charged another Rs50.Tripod usage is prohibited in Chowmahalla Palace.

RAMOJI FILM CITY

The studio has produced films in a number of languages, including TeluguHindiMalayalamTamilKannadaOriyaMarathiBengali and international film industries.

from the hotel, we took chartered bus for only Rs350. it took just one and half hour to get there from abids and the entry fee is Rs900. for me personally, i wouldn’t recommend this place. too hot and many attraction is not completed yet.

GOLCONDA FORT

Golconda Fort was first built by the Kakatiya dynasty from 945-70 as part of their western defenses along the lines of the Kondapalli Fort. The city and fortress are built on a granite hill that is 120 meters (400 ft) high and is surrounded by massive battlements. The fort was rebuilt and strengthened by Pratapa Rudra of the Kakatiyas.

The fort was further strengthened by the Musunuri Nayaks, who defeated the Tughlaqi army occupying Warangal. The fort was ceded by the Musunuri chief, Kapaya Nayak, to the Bahmani Sultanate as part of the treaty in 1364.

The fort became the capital of a major province in the sultanate and, after its collapse, the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The fort finally fell into ruins after a siege and its fall to the Mughal Empire under Aurangzeb in 1687.

After the collapse of the Bahmani Sultanate, Golkonda rose to prominence as the seat of the Qutb Shahi dynasty around 1507. Over a period of 62 years, the mud fort was expanded by the first three Qutb Shahi sultans into a massive fortification of granite, extending around 5 km in circumference. It remained the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty until 1590 when the capital was shifted to Hyderabad. The Qutb Shahis expanded the fort, whose 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) outer wall enclosed the city. The state became a focal point for Shia Islam in India. For instance, in the 17th century, the Bahraini clerics Jaʿfar ibn Kamal al-Din and Salih Al-Karzakani both emigrated to Golkonda.

because of the penunjuk perasaan on that day, all the bus services are not available. we decides to take an auto (taxi) for just Rs800 return (plus 2 hour the driver wait at the fort). the journey time is only about 30mins. please be advised, tripod also is prohibited in this fort.

BIRLA MANDIR

Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple, built on a 280 feet (85 m) high hillock called Naubath Pahad on a 13 acres (53,000 m2) plot. The construction took 10 years and was constructed in 1976 by Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission. The temple was constructed by Birla Foundation, which has also constructed several similar temples across India, all of which are known as Birla Mandir .

Apart from the main shrine, the consorts of Lord Venkateswara, Padmavati and Andal are housed in separate shrines. The temple also has separate shrines for various Hindu gods and goddess including Shiva, Shakti, Ganesh, Hanuman, Brahma, Saraswati, Lakshmi and Saibaba. Selected teachings of holy men and Gurbani are engraved on temple walls. Birla temples are open to all, as identified by Mahatma Gandhi and other Hindu leaders.

Photography is strictly prohibited in this temple so we decided not to enter this place. Also, there’s a street bazaar near here.

HUSSEIN SAGAR LAKE

From Birla Mandir, you can take bus to this place for bout Rs6. Entry fee here is Rs10. This place is just an ordinary park but you can take a ferry to the center of the lake for Rs55 where big buddha statues are situated. Please provide exact change. At night, there’s a laser show here.

HARD ROCK CAFÉ HYDERABAD

To those who love hard rock cafe merchandise, Hard Rock Cafe Hyderabad is situated in the GVK One shopping mall. just take the auto and ask the driver to stop there.

INDIA TRAIN
